Ms. Leola Belle Botkin Newland, age 86 of Buchanan, GA, formerly of Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 6, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born May 6, 1935, in Big Chimney, WV, to the late Clina William and Grace Knapperberger Botkin. Leola worked at CAMC in Charleston as a nurse assistant for over 48 years. She loved her family, taking care of people, and life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Newland and her son, David Lee Smith, as well as one sister, Betty Jane Jeffrey and three brothers, Clyde Riley Botkin, Bill Botkin, and Earl Ray Botkin. Mr. Randall "Randy" Wayne Brown, age 77 0f Bremen, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021. He was born September 17, 1943, in Cedartown, GA, the son of the late Joseph C. Brown and Bonnie Bailey Acree. In addition to his parents, Randy is preceded in death by two sisters, Janice McElroy and Susan Brumblelow. Randy graduated Cedartown High School and served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam Conflict where he received a Purple Heart. He worked in sales for over 30 years, with his last position being Sr. Vice President of Sales for the Lladro Company. Mr. William Allen Geiger, age 78, of Carrollton passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021. He was born in Lafayette, Indiana on Thursday, August 20, 1942. Mr. Geiger was the son of the late, Orville Milton Geiger and the late, Reba Jane (Barker) Wright. Mr. Geiger served in the United States Army and retired after 20 years of service. During his time in the Army, Mr. Geiger earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Valorous Unit Award, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm NCO Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon and the Army Good Conduct Medal.
