Beth Jarrett Ivy Beth Ivy, 76, of Fort Stockton, Texas passed away on February 25, 2023 in San Angelo, Texas. A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 28 at First United Methodist Church in Fort Stockton with Ed Williamson officiating. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Stockton. Beth was born in Canyon, Texas to Dr. Robert and Mamie Jarrett on October 29, 1946. She went to high school in Canyon and met her best friend and the love of her life, Jim, when she was at Trinity University in San Antonio. Betty was raised in Marathon, Texas and grew up on the family ranch. She graduated from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. After college, she was an elementary teacher for Fort Stockton ISD followed by bookkeeper and office manager for Hargus Aviation, Inc. She owned and managed cattle ranches until her death. She was born January 19, 1943, in Fort Stockton, Texas to June Pfiester Wyche Elkins and Billy Jack Wyche. Becky grew up in Fort Stockton, Texas and graduated Fort Stockton High School class of 1961. She was a member of the band and choir. Shortly after graduation she married Ronnie Hopkins on June 10, 1961. They settled in Midland, Texas and started their family. Jodie was born September 10, 1959, in San Angelo, Texas, to Eddie and Johnita Martin. He was their absolute pride and joy, the first of three boys. He was a healthy, strong, and a large baby, weighing in at over nine pounds. Those traits followed him his entire life. It's been said he wasn't allowed to play sports in the schoolyard of Irion County Elementary with kids his own age, but he was to play with the kids in grades ahead of him. But on Friday, November 13, 2020, we lost a true legendary cowboy, Apache Adams. Apache was born on September 11, 1937, in Del Rio, Texas. His mother, Mildred, had traveled from their River Ranch 75 miles south of Marathon, heavy with child, to her mother's home to have the baby. A couple of days after she gave birth, her husband, Ulice Adams, came to Del Rio to see his new son. Travis Cottrell passed away on October 31, 2020, at the age of 87. He was born June 12, 1933, in Comanche, Texas to Connie Cottrell and Ova Hurt who preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Shirley Croker Cottrell; sons Denzil Cottrell and wife, Molly, of Fort Stockton, Tx, Brooks Cottrell and wife, Jana, of Arlington, Tx: four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
