Leroy "Pee Wee" Lyons, 78, of Galveston, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at his residence. Leroy was born April 1, 1946 in Palmetto, Louisiana, to Junious and Edna Zachary Lyons. He later relocated to Galveston, TX, where he would remain until his passing. Leroy was employed with UTMB for many years, until his retirement in 2009. Edward Hightower, 91, was born on Galveston Island on July 24, 1932. He was the second child born to the late Ezell and Gertrude Hightower. He attended Central High School and Paul Quinn College before joining the Navy in 1950. Mr. Hightower was honorably discharged in 1953. He worked as a roofer for decades before retiring. Mr. Hightower was a charter member and first to hold the position of Second Vice Commander of American Legion. He was a member of ILA Lodge 614 for over 35 years.
