She was the daughter of the late Carl Ray Davis and Hazel Payne Davis. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Milton E. Phthisic, Sr. of thirty-eight years; her sister, Edna Davis Thompson; her brother, Ronald P. Davis; a nephew, Carl Ray Harry and a grandson, Christopher Phthisic. William Arthur Stevens, best known as Artie, of 116 US Hwy 158 West, Camden, NC passed away at the age of 82 on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was born January 12, 1940 to the late Howard Shelton Stevens "Poochie" and the late Florence Woodley Stevens. He served his country honorably in the United States Coast Guard. A native of Pasquotank County, she was born December 16, 1929 to William Johnson Williams and Evelyn Williard Baker Williams and was the wife of the late Robert Earl Poulos. Her parents died when she was very young and she was raised by her uncle and aunt, the late Cecil and Lessie Pritchard and their family. Virginia enjoyed a long career with Colonial Stores. He was born August 6, 1945 to the late Woodrow Wilson Sivills and Minnie Louise Rouse Sivills and was the husband of Carolyn Hoffler Sivills. Mr. Sivills was a retired history teacher and school administrator serving faithfully for thirty-nine years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rocky Mount.
