Ralph Allen Cook, 71 of Vale, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem. Born in Cleveland County, on May 14, 1953, he was the son of the late Alvin Jessie Cook and Georgia Modell Bradshaw Cook. Ralph retired after 40 plus years of service with Hickory Leather and was presently working for Our House Design. Rev. Edward Daves Lee, 90, of Shelby, died on Monday, August 7, 2023 at his home. Born in Cleveland County, on September 21, 1932, he was a son of the late Edward Yates Lee and Evelyn Daves Lee. He was a 1954 graduate of Appalachian Teachers College now known as Appalachian State University, where he played on the basketball team.
