Robert Lee Varnes, age 86, of Hull, formerly of Madison, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 at his home. Born March 8, 1936, in Chattanooga, TN, he was the son of the late Fred and Maggie Stepp Varnes. He retired from Ty Cobb Health Systems as a dietary manager. He was a twenty-year veteran of the United States Navy, where he served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Varnes was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Madison. Mildred Lucille (Lucy) Gullick was a New Year's baby, born on January 1, 1932. She was the seventh child born to Lillie and Bolivar Lindsey. She attended Potts Camp High School where she graduated in 1950. After graduating, she worked as a telephone operator and shortly thereafter met her sweetheart, the late Norman (Norm) Gullick. Lucy and Norm married in 1954 and welcomed their first child Randy, and a few years later were blessed with Cindy and later followed Lisa.
