Mrs. Joan Ferrell Sherman Kennedy, 92, of Sunset, SC, formerly of McComb, MS, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, SC. Mrs. Kennedy was born in Nashville, NC on November 22, 1930 to the late Wessie and Mary Georgia Bullock Ferrell. She was twice married, first to the late Fred Sherman and second to the late Dr. William Kennedy. She graduated from the University of North Carolina with her bachelor's degree in teaching, and was a longtime fan and supporter of UNC sports. In addition to her love for the Tarheels, she was passionate about golf and had a unconditional love for all animals. She also enjoyed playing basketball and bridge....

Dolores "Claire" Evans, age 87, passed away on May 25, 2023. She was born on January 19, 1936 in Akron, Ohio and was retired from the Akron Board of Education. Claire was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bob Evans of the Akron Police Department, (Retired) and her son and daughter-in-law Bob and Alison. She is survived by daughter Diane (Don), grandchildren Stephen (Bethany), Jesse (Liz), Logan, Ben (Hayley), & Jenna, and great-grandchildren Laurina Claire & Xander. Mrs. Sara Lou McWilliams Tirey, 90, of Chattanooga, peacefully passed away on April 13, 2023. She loved children and taught elementary school for 30 years in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Boyd Buchanan School in Chattanooga is where she taught for the last 23 years of her career. Lou will be remembered for her humor, thoughtfulness, and her positive influence on all of her students.
