Martha Volene Pipkin Taylor, 76, of Blue Mountain, Mississippi, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 10, 2022, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, following a prolonged illness. Mrs Taylor received her Registered Nursing license, along with her lifelong friend Lana Thompson, in 1965. She worked at Tippah County Hospital as the Director of Nursing, and then at Union County Hospital as the Inservice Director for many years. She was a loving mother, mother in law, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend, and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Glenda Lou Lacy, 71, of Hickory Flat, MS passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1st, 2022, after a long battle with lung cancer. Glenda was born on February 11,1951, in New Albany, MS. She was the daughter of late Wesley Marcus and Frankie Lorene Gadd. She was a member of Hickory Flat First Baptist Church. She served by working with the youth, Senior Citizens, and on various church committees through the years. She worked as an Assistant at Holly Springs High School. She worked at Merchants Truckline. Maxine Smith Palmer, 88, of Waterford passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at her home. Maxine was born on July 20, 1933 to Ruby Allene Young Smith and Guy Wilkins Smith in Waterford, Mississippi. She was married to Harold Blake "Bully" Palmer in June of 1952. Maxine worked alongside her husband as owners of Palmer's Grocery in Waterford for many years. She was a long-time member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, and especially enjoyed reading, shopping, and taking care of her family. Helen Doris Williams was born in Cayce, MS, on December 17, 1922, to Drury Ransom Williams and Beulah Powell Jones and sister to Ella Catherine. Frank Moore was the love of her life and proposed to her on top of the Peabody Hotel and they were married on May 4, 1943. After World War II, they settled in Byhalia, MS and raised their family. Doris retired from the US Postal Service after 32 years. She was a member of Byhalia United Methodist Church for 85 years and loved serving the United Methodist Women. William Otis Fitch passed away on September 22, 2021, in Louisville, Mississippi. Mr Fitch, a native of Holly Springs, was born on August 1, 1933, and attended Holly Springs High School, graduating in 1951. While growing up, Mr Fitch, known to many as Bill or Billy, was an avid outdoorsman, always enjoying riding horses and hunting quail.
