Billy Eugene Ginn, 92, of Cherokee, Alabama, died on Sunday, July 30, 2023, in his home. Mr. Billy was a member of Asphalt Rock Baptist Church and an ordained deacon since 1951, and he assisted numerous churches as a deacon throughout the years. He served several years in the United States Army in the 8th Army, 10th Corps, and 196th Field Artillery Battalion (155MM) in the Korean War. After his time in the Army, Mr. Billy worked as a sawmiller and also as a pool installer with his son, Bobby. He was a huge fan of Alabama athletics, especially their football and softball teams. Becky Rye Cobb, 59, died Thursday, July 13, 2023, at her residence. Becky was a lifetime member of the Iuka Baptist Church. She devoted her life to the education of children and spent the majority of the last 33 years as a kindergarten teacher at Iuka Elementary School where she was affectionately referred to as "The Queen". Ann Nixon Kay, 82, died Saturday, April 29, 2023, at her home in Tupelo. She was born July 20, 1940, to Minor Rubel Nixon and Katherine Martin Nixon in Burnsville, Mississippi. Born with God-given musical and artistic gifts, she honed these gifts with perseverance, persistence and practice and shared them through performance, teaching, leadership and service. Bonnie Lou Foote Coke, 89, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in Belmont, Mississippi. Bonnie was born to Bal and Bessie (Whitaker) Foote on June 22, 1933, in Burnsville. Bal and Bessie owned and operated a general store, and Bonnie and her sister Betty had many happy memories of helping in the store while growing up and attending church, revivals, and gospel singings in the area. Bonnie met her husband of 60 years, Jesse Coke, Jr., at a gospel singing. They married on October 15, 1955, and returned to Belmont, MS, in 1965, where they raised their children, Jay and Mitzi.
