Janie moved to Lumberton with her family, went to school in Kountze, and graduated in Silsbee. She attended First Baptist Church of Loeb where she met the love of her life, John Boykin. They later married and had four children. Janie opened a beauty salon and later her and John started Boykin Homes and Land Sales. She loved traveling in her bus to Branson, it was her favorite place to visit. Phill was born May 1, 1932, in New Castle, Henry County, Indiana to Thamar Silas Hawk and Dorothy Mae Ellis. He married Martha J.
