Winfred Lee "Windy" Headdy, age 91 of Grand Junction, CO, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Monday, December 4, 2023 at the HopeWest Hospice Care Center. Windy was born on June 12, 1932 in Spencer, IN to Winfred R. Headdy and Daphene Hedrick Headdy. In 1947, he moved to Los Alamos, NM where he lived for 50 years and worked as an Industrial Photographer at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and ran a Wedding Photography business from 1950- 1987. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1950-1954. En route to a vacation, Bob Noble suffered a heart attack that led to his death ten days later. He died at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in New York City with his wife Carolyn at his side. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and as the child of what he called a "government gypsy" he grew up in several states, wherever his father's job took them. After graduating from Louisiana Tech University in 1965, he began his own career as a government gypsy. On November 28, 2023 Rubye Oleta Smith a loving companion, mother and sister passed away peacefully at 93 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. Oleta was survived by John Noell of 21 years, her son Mike Whitfield and his wife Juli, along with daughter Patty Lewis and sister Nelda Coffman. Oleta was known as "The General". A take charge individual who could hold her own with anyone. She graduated from high school in Homer, NE in 1957, and graduated from Colorado Christian University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management. Nancy married her childhood sweetheart, Wally Ellyson in 1959. They lived in Nebraska and Wyoming before settling in Grand Junction in 1987. Nancy had a long career in human resources. Lawrence Ray Baber passed away in his sleep on Nov 11th 2023 Larry was a Gold and Silversmith in Grand Junction, Co for 35 years. He started Lars Custom Jewelry and later Junction Gold and Silver Repair. During those years he made a family and many, many friends.
