Doris Elaine (Greer) Nelson was born on June 22, 1927 in Oxford, Nebraska and passed away on March 6, 2020 in Kirkland, Washington at the age of 92. She was the youngest of the four children of Sidney Ellsworth Greer and Grace Lucretia Blincow Greer. Her early years were spent on her father's farm until the Dust Bowl forced the family to move from Nebraska to Burlington, Washington in 1936. After graduating from Burlington High School in 1944 just one month before her 17th birthday, Doris lived at home and worked part time while taking classes at Mt. Vernon Junior College.
