Arthur William Wight, 92, of Goldsmith, passed away at home on Sunday, January 29, 2023. He was born April 21, 1930, in Odessa, to Schuyler and Moselle Wight. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1947, and from Texas A&M University in 1951. He was a rancher. He married Carl on June 11, 1951, in Odessa, and they moved into a small unused house on the YT Ranch. They were married for 61 years until Carl's death in 2013 and were members of Antioch Christian Church. Arthur was a man of few words and many talents. Mary Watts Redmon passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10th surrounded by her loving children. Mary was born in Azle, Texas on June 2nd, 1942, to Obie Lynn and Luna Mae Watts. Her family moved to Odessa in the 1950s and started a general store in south Odessa. Later, Obie Lynn and Luna Mae started the Watts Burgers drive in. They expanded to 3 locations on 8th & West County Road, Andrews Highway, and South Grant. She graduated Permian High School in the 1st graduating class of 1960. Brenda Jones Baldwin, 80, died Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from a subdural hemorrhage after a fall. She was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to the late Sadie (Chatham) and Claude Ben Jones. She completed her nursing degree at Odessa College and retired from rehab nursing at The University of North Carolina Health Care System in Chapel Hill, NC. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Michelle Baldwin. Born on December 7, 1929, in New Boston, Texas to parents Ted and Avis White, Mildred Ruth White was one of twelve children. Mildred would meet and eventually marry the love of her life, Marion Wilkerson Lee, on September 14, 1946, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. The two would spend 62 wonderful years together until his passing in 2009, leaving quite the legacy as they not only had 9 children, but dozens of grand, great, and great-great grandchildren.
