Dr. Sam T. Hamra (Sameer Towfeek Hamra) passed away peacefully in his home on Lakeside Drive on Wednesday October 1st at the age of 88. He was born on July 16th, 1937 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Towfeek Abusamra Hamra, a Lebanese immigrant, and Adeline Homra Hamra of Fulton, Kentucky. Sam grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma alongside his older sister and lifelong teammate Sameera Hamra Murad with whom he shared an extraordinary bond. Together they lived a charmed childhood as products of the American Dream, constantly surrounded by countless relatives and loved ones and strongly shaped by the immigrant values of their parents. Jeff Goodell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died peacefully on December 30, 2024, at Prestonwood Nursing Center. He was a resident of Carrollton, Texas. Charles Jefferson Goodell was born on March 29, 1939, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to Arville and Eva Belle Goodell. The Goodell family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Edward Lee Kral, known to all as Lee, passed away in Dallas on February 20 from complications of a severe stroke he suffered in March 2023. Born in Fort Worth, he grew up in several towns in West Texas, notably Crosbyton and Lamesa. He graduated from Lamesa High School in 1973 and then attended Texas Tech University to earn degrees in electrical engineering. He will be greatly missed. Jean Suzanne Bryant was born on July 5, 1938, in Fort Worth, Texas together with her twin sister Jerrie. The family moved to Houston where they grew up and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. Jean worked various jobs and eventually moved to Dallas and joined Braniff Airways as a flight attendant. She met Bob and they were married on October 11, 1961, embarking on 61 years of marriage. Jean left Braniff to forge new paths, first as a full-time mother and later by returning to school and earning her associate degree in nursing from El Centro College. Dewonda (Dee) Henderson Phelps was born on November 20, 1937, in Terral, Oklahoma to her parents, Bill and Maude Henderson. She is survived by her sister, Helen Henderson Kirby. She was born on September 6, 1935, the daughter of Walter E. and Gladys Weiland of Rochester, New York, and lived in that locality for 35 years. She treasured her many childhood friends, especially Nancy Miller Shellard of Fairport, New York, who has remained her most loyal friend for the past 85 years.
