Nelda Steward, age 85, of Midland, Texas and formerly of Rockwood, Texas peacefully passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022 after a brief illness in Midland, Texas. Nelda was born January 6, 1937 in Santa Anna, Texas to John X and Abbie (Barker) Steward and grew up in Rockwood, Texas. She graduated from Santa Anna High School. Nelda had a long career in the grocery business where she eventually retired from Furr's, then M'system, and finally from Affiliated Foods as the Non-Foods Manager. After retiring, she did volunteer work for Helping Hands of Midland and as a pink lady for the Ladies Auxiliary of Midland Memorial Hospital. She loved serving the public. When she was younger, Betty Jo was an Aquarena Mermaid, singer, horse rider and Queen of the Silver Dollar. She was an avid gardener, reader and genealogy historian. William Grey "Bill" Posey, age 84, went home to the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, July 30th, 2019. Bill was born March 12, 1935 in Santa Barbara, California to Victor C. Posey and Joy (Reichard) Posey. At the age of 3, the family moved to McAllen Texas. He married Margaret Ann Haywood in 1982 in McAllen, Texas. Clair Fulton Whitesell, age 88, of Brady, Texas passed away peacefully Sunday, June 23, 2019, in San Angelo, Texas surrounded by his family. Clair was born August 24, 1930, in Houston, Pennsylvania to Malvin Clair Whitesell and Florence Rachael (Fulton) Whitesell. He served in the U.S. Navy. Rex Edward Joslin, age 90, of Melvin, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, September 15, 2021 in Odessa, Texas. Rex was born November 19, 1930 in Pineville, Missouri to James Arthur Joslin and Carrie Edith (Bullard) Joslin. He became a Christian at the age of 11 during a revival in Pineville. He graduated high school in 1948 in Pineville where he enjoyed playing basketball, softball and track. He joined the U.S. Navy in March of 1952 and was honorably discharged on June 4th, 1956.
