He served as a proud veteran of the United States Navy, graduated from Hobbs High School (Eagles for life!). Jimmy Don served the New Mexico National Guard before going into active duty. Mario Moncada, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away October 18, 2025. The son of Frank and Eustolia Moncada, Mario grew up in Big Spring, Texas. He was born on June 5, 1952 and attended Big Spring High School. At the age of 19, Mario enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1971. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal among many other Vietnam campaign and service medals. He was honorably discharged in 1977. Jack Blackwell passed away peacefully October 15, 2025 in Eastland, TX. Jack was born April 2, 1939 in Gorman, Texas to Curtis Blackwell and Polly Nerger Blackwell (Martin). He graduated from Ranger High School, Class of 1957. In 1967 he moved to Iowa while working for Fina Oil Co. and in 1974 opened Blackwell Tires in Ottumwa, Iowa. His son Curtis took ownership of the business when Jack retired.
