Marcella Marie Wilson Hickerson peacefully entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior in Tyler, Texas on January 6, 2024 at the age of 95. She was born on March 23, 1928 in Ralls, Texas and was the only child of Harvey and Iva Bownds Wilson. Marcella graduated from Lubbock High School and married the love of her life, John Hickerson, on November 27, 1946 while he was a student at Texas Tech University. They were active members at Central Baptist Church and she was the last surviving member of "the gang" - a group of young married Sunday School members who remained extremely close until each of their deaths. Jane was a much-beloved professor at Texas Tech University, where she held the Frank M. Burke Chair in Taxation. She was a brilliant teacher in the classroom, but her greatest joy was privately mentoring graduate students. He was born in Bridgeport, CT and lived for 94 years in the Stratford and Huntington areas until he relocated to TX in 2021. Born on August 31, 1951 in Wichita Falls, Texas, he was the second child and oldest son of William Ernest "Bill" Robinson and Alta Florene "Flo" (Pippin) Robinson. His father was a civil service flight instructor whose job took the family to Honda and San Antonio, Texas; Winter Haven, Florida; and Dothan, Alabama, where Curt attended school through the 11th grade.
