Margaret "Maggie" Elizabeth (Bradbury) Rice, 75, of Rowe, MA, died peacefully on June 27, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family after a brief battle with cancer. Maggie was born in Pittsfield, MA on January 22, 1947, to Allan Rossman Bradbury and Phyllis Esther (Corey) Bradbury. She grew up playing in the woods at Mount Hope Farm in Williamstown, MA. Maggie graduated from Mt. Greylock Regional High School in 1965. In 1968, she graduated from the last class of the Henry W. Bishop III Memorial School of Nursing, which was affiliated with the Pittsfield General Hospital. Maggie used her skills as a registered nurse for 50 years. Duane L. Scranton, 87, of Shelburne Line Rd., passed away April 12, 2022. Duane was born in Guilford, VT on April 18, 1934 the son of Ivan and Mildred (Franklin) Scranton. He graduated from Brattleboro High School, class of 1953. Over the years Duane and his classmates got together regularly and he hosted the 60th Class Reunion at his farm with a pig roast. He always used his truck to pull the class float in the annual reunion parades. He will be missed at the upcoming 70th reunion. David F. Howland, age 95, passed away on April 28, 2021. David was a long-time resident of Heath, Massachusetts. He was born in Oneonta, New York on December 16, 1925, the son of Ray F. and Ruth (Tooker) Howland. He graduated from Oneonta High School in 1943 where he was treasurer of the Senior Class and a graduation speaker. He joined the U.S. Army in March 1944 and subsequently served overseas with the Third Army in the European Theater of Operations with the 16th and 4th Armored Divisions. Kenneth W. "Kenny" Ryan, 37, of Dwight Cross Rd., died Saturday April 10, 2021. Kenny was born in Greenfield on August 15, 1983 the only son of Alexander and Joan (Lundrigan) Ryan. He grew up in Colrain and was a graduate of Franklin County Technical School in 2002. Kenny was a talented "Jack of all trades". From pouring concrete for Hill Street Concrete to making pallets for Slowinski Pallets there wasn't a job that he couldn't do. Anything that he was asked to do, he found a way to get the job done and done well. Kenny enjoyed maple sugaring and looked forward to the season every year. John E. Palmeri, 74, of West St., died unexpectedly on March 8, 2021. John was born in Arlington, MA on May 19, 1946 the son of Edmund and Frances (Dwyer) Palmeri. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in North Adams and received an associates degree from Greenfield Community College in Criminal Justice. John enlisted in the US Army on February 14, 1966 and was honorably discharged on January 27, 1969. Glenn H. Lovell, 84, of West Gill Rd., passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. He is finally re-united with his wife of 55 years, Pamela, who passed on May 31, 2018. Glenn was born in East Templeton, MA on May 7, 1936 the son of Clarence and Alberta (Hall) Lovell. At the age of 18 he was drafted into the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict for four years. Glenn learned how to drive a truck as soon as he could reach the pedals, and did so his entire life.
