Cathy Panagoulias, who brought diversity to The Wall Street Journal, dies at 70. Panagoulias moved to Colorado alone in 2021 and died after a brief illness at her home surrounded by family. She spent the last three years enjoying her newfound freedom in the majestic Rocky Mountains, traveling in the U.S., Greece, Italy and France. Cathy was most proud of her ability to mentor others and promote diversity in journalism, a career she was passionate about. She will be remembered for her bravery, boldness, creativity, tireless advocacy for women and finding the best hotels worldwide. Born on September 18, 1939, in Riverton, Wyoming, Sharon was the daughter of Harold and Josephine McCoy. She was the eldest of their two daughters. The family relocated from Riverton to their ranch east of Cedaredge, Colorado in 1945, where Sharon later graduated from Cedaredge High School in 1957.
