Joan Ellen Valiton, "Termite", 54, of Buckland passed away Monday November 2, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on January 19, 1966 to Wallace and Barbara (Burton) Valiton. She grew up in Buckland attending local schools, graduating from Mohawk Trail Regional High School in 1984. She also attended Greenfield Community College, graduating in 1991 with an associates degree in nursing. At the time of her death she was employed by the Farren Care Center where she had worked for 16 years. Over the years she enjoyed traveling, practicing Reiki and spiritual healing. Joni (Wing) Esteves of Colrain passed away at UMass Memorial Medical Center on July 31, 2020 after being taken off life support, losing a short battle with injuries sustained from an accident. Her husband and daughter were by her side. Joni was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 1, 1959 to parents Susan (Lesley) and Eulis Wing. She married Luiz Esteves in 1979, and celebrated 41 years of marriage. She attended Mt. Holyoke College. Joni loved art, painting, music, and singing. John A. LaBelle, 74, died peacefully at home on June 10, 2020, surrounded by family. Born and raised in Ashfield, John was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and became an Executive Chef traveling with the seasons between Maine and Florida early in his career, before moving back home to start a catering company that he operated for over 30 years. He later served as the Director of Food Services at Mohawk Trail Regional High School and Executive Director of Food Services at Phoenix Insurance. 1933-2020 Betty Smith died peacefully, in the home of her daughter, at 87 years. Daughter of Nelson Lanoue and Etta (Streeter) of Ashfield MA, Betty was the fifth child of six. Her siblings Lillian, Silbert, Eleanor, Viola and Audrey predeceased her. She graduated from Sanderson Academy then worked in Pittsfield for General Electric. Arthur J. Fiset, 92, of Colrain Road died on May 14, 2020, at his Home in Greenfield of end stage vascular disease. He was cared for by his children, aided by Overlook Hospice/VNA. She was born in Pittsfield to Esther (Williams) and Paul V. Estes on January 14, 1940. She was married to her beloved husband Jordan, for 61 years, having met him at a square dance in Ashfield.
