Lady M. Seilheimer was born in March 1948, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to Ervin and Millie Smith and welcomed to the family by three brothers and two sisters, whom she loved dearly. Lady married her husband, John, on July 23, 1989. He loved her more than he can express. Lady and John were employed by a major janitorial service in Seattle, where Lady was the supervisor at Seattle's largest building and also its oldest modern high rise, which led her to keep her house neat as a pin. Ladies primary focus was on her family. She loved Jesus Christ. She enjoyed needle work and won several awards for her cross-stitch and she was learning to quilt. Dr. Sylvia Parrish Maxson peacefully died on November 15, 2023 with her loving husband, Bobby of sixty (60) years holding her hand. Sylvia was a retired university professor of early childhood education at California State University - Long Beach. Sylvia's philanthropy for helping others was one of the hallmarks of her life. Her love of books and children are why the Anacortes Public Library, Children's section is named the Dr. Sylvia Maxson Children's Library. William (Bill) Bowron passed away November 2, 2023. He was born August 14, 1927 in Mount Vernon to Myrtle and Maurice Bowron. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1945 and began his career with the U.S. Postal Service in Mount Vernon. He entered the Army in 1945 and served until 1947. Upon his return home he attended Skagit Valley College, while resuming his work at the Mount Vernon Post Office, as clerk and then Superintendent of Mails for several years. He retired from the Mount Vernon Post Office after 41 years of service. Zaid, at the age of 20, passed away on October 24, 2023 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He graduated as a valedictorian of the 2021 class of Stanwood High School and attended one year at George Fox University. Zaid had a remarkable life, and was well known in the community for his academic success and musical talent. Zaid's Celebration of Life and Music will be on Saturday, November 18. Donald Ray "Don" Petit, 83, of Anacortes, Washington passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023, in Ilwaco. Don was born on November 2, 1939 and was adopted by Albert Francis Petit and Elsie Doris (Christianson) Petit in Chehalis. He grew up in Chehalis with his brother Chuck and graduated from W.F. West High School in 1957. After high school, Don joined the Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Upon returning home from the Army, Don lived with his childhood best friend, Gordon "Dez" Castonia in Seattle. Dorothy Rathvon Hughes passed away at 91 years with heart failure on September 16. She was born into a family reaching nine siblings on a homestead in Birdsview. She enjoyed a life time of fond memories and the companionship of her close knit family. Dorothy graduated from Sedro-Woolley high school and joined her older sister, Ethel, in Seattle to attend business college. She retired after 30 years with the telephone company. William (Bill) Donald Gilbert was born on December 12, 1931 in Avon, WA to Willard and Leota (Harris) Gilbert. He passed away at his home on the morning of August 25, 2023 at the age of 91. Surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with COPD. He graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1950. After graduation, he moved to Northern California, where he was stationed at Moffett Field Naval Air Base in Mountain View. Serving as a flight radio operator in the VR-5 Squadron, for three and one-half years. During his service, William's squadron provided air transport during the Korean conflict. Viki is no longer with us. She was at home, asleep in the early morning of 8-22-23 when she passed, and now is in better hands. Viki is survived by her spouse Paul Gonzales, sisters Sharynn (Richard) Meltzer, Debbie (Barry) Campbell, and brother Randy Miles. A private memorial was held on 11-1-2023. Sincere appreciation to the Anacortes Alzheimer's support group, North West Resource Center, and Hospice of the North West, for their immense help in Viki's transition to a better place. Jean Ann Benfield passed away on April 29, 2022 in Sedro-Woolley, WA at the age of 79 after losing her battle with Alzheimer's. Jean was born in Sedro-Woolley, WA to Perry and Irene Rickabaugh on June 27, 1942. She was one of two daughters and was raised in Concrete, WA, graduating from Concrete High School. Jean was a wonderful mom who always put her children first. She raised five children by herself with very little means, yet we had everything we needed and more because she could stretch a dime into a dollar. She said she never wanted to leave us with a babysitters and only hired one on two separate occasions. We would get to go to Grandma and Grandpa Benfield's house instead where...
