Thomas Fredrick Meissner, Sr., 91, passed away February 23, 2024 at E.W. & Lucille Cates House (Hospice) in Ocala, Florida. He was born in Menominee, MI February 12,1933. Raised on the shore of Green Bay in Menominee he enjoyed fishing, sailing/boating with his brothers. He attended Menominee High School and was a member of the band. Tom enlisted in the National Guard/Army in 1951 and was sent for training to Camp Atterbury, IN where he married Marie Janet Blake, also of Menominee, on 4/4/53. Mr. James (Jim) Norbert O'Connor, age 83, of Ocala, FL (originally from Hollidaysburg, PA), passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024 at the E.W. & Lucille Cates House in Ocala. He was born in Altoona, PA on May 29, 1940 and was the son of Norbert and Hilda (Fochler) O'Connor. Jim was a 1958 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School where he was an accomplished drummer in the school band. This accomplishment led to his membership in the Gardner Guards, a nationally renowned marching and maneuvering drum corps based in Tyrone, PA. Blandina (Tina) Schiller, age 96, passed away peacefully the morning of 27 January 2024 at Diamond Ridge Nursing Home, in Lecanto, FL. She was just days away from her 97 th birthday. Blandina moved from her small village in Schweinfurt, Germany in 1930 when she and her mother, boarded a ship to America and took residence in Union, New Jersey. She later became employed at a belt factory. Later in life, she met her husband, Eddie, an Army Veteran from the Korean War. In the 80's they moved to Florida where they purchased a modest home in Lecanto. Blandina was a house wife and very devoted to her husband for 45 years until he passed away. Edward A. (Ed) Kostishion 85 of Jim Thorpe, Pa Passed away July 1st 2023 in Ocala, Fl. Ed was born in East Mauch Chunk to John and Elizabeth Stanche Kostishion on January 26th 1938. He attended Jim Thorpe High School, and graduated in 1956 then enlisting into the Navy and being honorably discharged in 1961. He worked as a supervisor for Macke Vending and ASI Food Service in New Jersey for a total of 60 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing with his grand children. Jerold John Milavec, 82, of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away on June 13, 2023 in Ocala, Florida. Jerry was born in Shallmar, Maryland to John F. and Beulah O. Milavec on March 13, 1941. A graduate of Elk Garden High School, Class of 1959, he attended Potomac State College on an athletic scholarship before enlisting in the United States Navy.
