Jean Evelyn Jones, 88, a long-time resident of Maryville, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023, in Arlington, VA. She will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on August 4, 2023, with her beloved husband, Major Joe Jerry Jones, USAF, who predeceased her in 2018. Married for almost 64 years, their powerful love and devotion to each other and to their family was an inspiration to all who knew them. Jean was born in Dallas, TX on January 30, 1935, to loving parents Willis Theodore "Jack" Pinkston and Rubye Lee Wayland Pinkston McKay. Bonnie Jean Smith Hurwitz, 89, peacefully passed away on December 11, 2022. She grew up in California and worked her way through UCLA. She worked in UCLA's Letters and Science Department. Later, working for RAND in Vietnam, she met and married Martin Hurwitz, then a major in the United States Army. After a posting in Germany, she worked for General Research Corporation. She retired when her husband was reassigned to London, England. She loved the city. They traveled extensively until age and illness caught up with them, They moved to Vinson Hall Retirement Community where she lived for the rest of her life.
