Myron (Mike) Brown passed away on the 27th of December. He was 86 years old and a longtime resident of Issaquah and Camano Island. Mike is survived by his wife Bonnie of 65 years, daughter Judy Swenson (Joe) and predeceased by his son David. Joyce Elaine Erickson, 88, of Burlington, WA went to be with our Lord & Savior on December 8, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born on August 4, 1933 in Stanwood, WA to Carl & Ruth Sundberg. Joyce went onto nursing school at Everett Community College. During the time Joyce was finishing her internship at Providence Hospital in Everett in 1954, one of her patients decided to set her up with a friend of his. Dori died peacefully in Marysville, WA on November 20, 2021, just before her 97th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Arch," E.D. Archambault. Dori was the loving mother of four: Craig, Guemes Island, WA; Linda Chris (Gigi), Santa Rosa, CA; Mary, Marysville, WA; and Jon (Paulina), Oregon City, OR. Robert "Bob" Scott was born Sept. 5, 1933 in Hastings, Nebraska, to Walter and Dorothy Scott. He had one older brother, Harold Scott. After high school graduation in 1952, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served as a Gunner's Mate aboard the USS Tills (DE-748). After a 1954 honorable discharge, Bob studied forestry at Oregon State University, then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Mgt. at Humboldt State University. During summers while attending college, Bob worked as a seasonal National Park Ranger at Crater Lake National Park. He married Marilyn Wood June 14, 1959. They had two sons, Bret and Eric Scott. Sharon R. Abbott, of Birdsview, WA left this world on October 22, 2021, to be with her Heavenly Father. She was born February 29, 1944, in Ketchikan, AK. The daughter of Calvin and Mary Demmert Roberts. She attended school in Ketchikan, graduating from Ketchikan HS, in 1963. She attended the University of Alaska, S.E. and Skagit Valley College. She was last employed, by the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe as an Early Childhood Education Specialist, retiring in 2009. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and being "Mom, Grandma" to all. Longtime Skagit Valley educator, Beverly Gay Barker passed away October 19, 2021, at the age of 90. Known as Gay to her family and friends, she lived up to her name, spreading joy and beauty with her contributions to the earth, education and a multitude of friends. Born November 8, 1930 in Kansas City to Virginia and Chester Dunham. Gay Dunham spent her early childhood between, Kansas City, Chicago and Denver where her love of reading was nurtured and she enjoyed the outdoor life as well. While a teen, in the 1940's, she started an all-girls rifle team, because girls weren't allowed to compete on the boys' team.
