She graduated from Wilkes Central High School and received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from Appalachian State Teachers College. She was a member of Lewis Baptist Church. Charles Blair Holt Sr, 91, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed on Saturday, March 8, 2025 around 4:00pm in the afternoon. Charles served 23 years in the Army, retiring as a Sgt. Major E-8. After serving his country, Charles began serving his community at Fawcett Memorial Hospital and retired after 20 years. Charles is survived by 3 daughters: Darcie Holt, Terri Keen, and Jodi Holt. He is also survived by 2 sons: Charles Holt Jr and Darren Holt. As a lifelong member of the Moose, they will be holding a traditional ceremony at a later date to honor his service to his country and to give friends and family a chance to say goodbye. Janice "Jan" L. Eggly, 82, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2025 at her home in Venice, Florida. She will always be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, neighbor and friend to many. Jan was born December 8, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. She attended Grosse Pointe High School and Michigan State University. Jan went on to work for TIME Magazine for more than 25 years, where she loved working at the Fisher Building in downtown Detroit. Throughout her life, Jan loved the game of golf.
