Neptune Society of Irving

passed away on September 3, 2021 at the age of 86. Duane was born on April 19, 1935 in Platte, South Dakota. He later moved to Sioux Falls, SD. He excelled in high school athletics as an all-state halfback and champion sprinter. His athletic career then led him to college at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. He again excelled, gaining all conference status on the football team and multiple sprint victories. Duane obtained his bachelors and masters degrees in History. He later obtained his PhD in History from the University of Oklahoma. Duane's professional career led him to teaching and administrative positions in higher education institutions across the country....
