Sheri L. Berks (Vance) of Buhl, Idaho, passed away peacefully at her home on October 7th. She was born to George and Caroline Vance in Wilder, Idaho where she developed her hardworking and tenacious spirit. Sheri was the oldest of four siblings: Craig Vance, Laura Murray, and Scott Vance. She married Richard Berks of Twin Falls in 1977, and together they built a beautiful life. Sheri was a proud mom to her two daughters, Bonnie Lloyd of Twin Falls and Megan Berks of Boise, and a deeply devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Jeris Eckert Haskins passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023. She was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on December 31, 1946, to Maurice and Velma Morse Eckert. Jeris spent her early years growing up in Buhl, Idaho before the family moved to the Magic Water farming project in 1956 that was being taken out of sagebrush. Jeris and her siblings learned to work hard from an early age in the harsh desert environment. Jeris attended K-12 in Buhl schools and graduated from Beauty School the following year in 1966. Jeris spent most of her career working for Weyerhaeuser (Trus Joist) in Boise after having worked for Tempco, and for Rangen's in Buhl. Jeris loved her two children from her first marriage...

Elna was born November 30, 1930 to Willard Levi Hammon and Elizabeth Jordan. She joined two older sisters and three older brothers. An additional sister joined the family later. She grew up on a farm in Milo, Idaho where she helped on the farm and spent time with family and extended family in the Milo area. She attended schools in Milo, Ucon, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. She met the love of her life, Arthur Reuel Chandler Jr., and they were married in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple on December 8, 1948. Elna and Art had one son and four daughters. Our dear Dad, husband, grandpa, brother, and friend passed away peacefully March 22, 2022, at the age of 81, in Buhl, Idaho at the home of his daughter, Courtney Kelsey. We, his children, celebrate the reunion of our parents, Monte and Carolyn Taylor. Dad lost mom in August of 2018; it was almost more than he could bear. They were separated for about three and a half years; the reunion must have been so sweet. Dad could hardly wait to see mom again but was determined to make the very best of his life while she was gone. Nancy L. Anderst lived 89 years and recently celebrated her 71st anniversary married to the love of her life, Ephriam "Moe" Anderst. Nancy was born in Shoshone, Idaho on June 24, 1932 and recently passed away on October 23, 2021 in Buhl, Idaho. She was the third child of six, born to Roy & Helen Fields. Nancy and her sisters helped "taste-testing" at the business their parents built in ten days, Helen's Drive-In, which travelers frequented on their way to Sun Valley. Marlene was born in Lewiston, Idaho, on April 18, 1932 to Frank and Gladys Shaw Hopkins of Culdesac, Idaho, joining her older sister, Laura Lee. Mom graduated from Culdesac High School, and then attended the University of Idaho, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and the Vandaleers. Lester "Adam" McCabe, 66, of Buhl and formerly of Elko, Nevada went to rest September 11, 2021. Adam was born May 20, 1955 on a U.S. Military base in Stuttgart, Germany to Lester and Flora McCabe. Adam completed High School and attended some college. He started to work at his uncle's gas station at a young age. He also worked road construction with his uncles. He moved to Elko, Nevada and began his career working at Barrick Goldstrike Mine as a heavy equipment operator. Adam worked in the mine for 30 years. Born November 25, 1925 he was the youngest of 17 or more children from Peter C. & Pauline (Weller) Anderst, both born in South Russia. Moe was born in Fredonia, North Dakota and at age 12 his family moved to Filer, Idaho. On his 18th birthday he enlisted in the Navy to serve in WWII along with three of his brothers already enlisted. He was stationed on the Battleship California and while at sea was transferred onto the Cruiser USS Denver, spending 18 months at sea. Mary graduated from Shelley High School and married the love of her life, Joseph Kienlen, in 1949. They had four children: James, Gala, Jon, and Mary Jo. Marshall Lee Simcoe, 92, of Pocatello, formerly of Buhl, died Sunday, July 4, 2021 at his residence. Marshall was born August 30, 1928 in Jose, Colorado to Marshall Bryan Simcoe and Erma Russel Sheard Cook Simcoe. A short time after graduating high school, Marshall joined the United States Navy on October 15, 1948 at the age of 20. He was part of the Air Transportation Squadron Twenty-One. During his time in the Navy he received several decorations, medals, and badges as well as a Good Conduct Medal.
