Neal D. Perry Jr. was born outside of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri Oct. 23, 1941 to Neal and Jewell Perry, and passed away peacefully in his home on Nov. 29, 2023. Dr. Perry served the Lawton community for 50 years as a chiropractor. He loved cooking bulgogi, having learned the recipe while stationed with the army in Okinawa; he loved joking with his grandchildren; and he loved spoiling his pet dogs. David Kirk "Dave" Meaders, loving husband and father, left this life on Nov. 22, 2023. He was born on Nov. 19, 1940, in Okemah to Kirk Albert Meaders and Dora Alcis Blackman and was a 1959 graduate of Guthrie High School. Dave married Jo Ann Harraman in 1960 and they enjoyed 49 happy years together before her passing in 2009. It was in 1960 that Dave also began his military career with the United States Army. After completing basic training at Fort Carson, Colorado, and Advanced Individualized Training at Fort Hood, Texas, Dave and Jo Ann moved to Fort Campbell, Kentucky in 1961 where he completed the Army Airborne School while assigned to the 101st Airborne ("Screaming Eagles") Division....

Funeral for Marilynn Jean Hutchins Johnson, 97, of Lawton, was held Monday, Nov. 13, 2023 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha. Pastor Gary Butler officiated. Marilynn was born on July 7, 1926 in Lawton, to Walter and Vera Hutchins. She died on Nov. 10, 2023 in Lawton. Marilynn grew up in Lawton and was close to her grandparents Arthur and Maud Clark. She attended Lawton High School, Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and Oklahoma State University. She married Isaac John Johnson on July 10, 1946. He died on January 20, 1986. Fred Vasquez, 71, died of a tragic accident on Oct. 14,2023, at the Virginia Hospital Center.
