Paul E. Leach, age 85, of Ocala, Florida, and a former resident of Wellston, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 17, 2021, following failing health due to being assaulted in March. He was born May 13, 1936 in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Earl E. Leach and Edna May Gehring Leach. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army and a former truck driver for Yellow Freight out of Columbus. He attended the Meadowbrook Church in Ocala, Florida and was a member of the American Legion Post 371 in Wellston and the Eagles Lodge. Glendon Jay Hughes, age 72, of McArthur, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at his home. He was born January 6, 1949 at home in Dundas, Ohio to the late Clarence Thomas Hughes and Mary Alzina Brooks Hughes. Jay graduated with the first graduating class at Vinton County High School in 1967. He was a veteran of the United States Army who was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam era. Jay was always a hard worker throughout his life, having in years past worked as a dozer operator and in the coal mines.
