Kevin received a degree in Civil Engineering from Wooster Polytech, graduating as a Lt in the army. He later received a master's degree from NYU. Born in Keene, NH in 1935 to the late Gordon Valley and Ruth (Hartwell) Valley, she was the loving wife of Wesley Briand. He served with the 286th Engineer Combat Battalion during WWII entering service as a draftee in 1942 and discharged in 1946 as a First Lieutenant.
