Steven Clyde Evans, 71, of Bluffton, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 30, 2023, at River Terrace Retirement Community. Sharing the same birthday as his father, but 23 years apart, Steve was born in Rochester, IN, on Mar. 16, 1952, to Gerald Clyde Evans and Juanita L. (Rose) Evans. Steve's mother preceded him in death in 2020, and his father passed away just a few hours after Steve, on Saturday, Dec. 30th. A 1971 graduate of South Side High School in Fort Wayne, Steve worked as a machinist for Fort Wayne Metals for 22 years until retiring in 2017. He was a member of NIDAC and an avid IU basketball fan. Galen "Gale" J. Baumgartner, age 87, of Bluffton, passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 2, 2023. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, from noon until 7:00 PM, at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel, 3220 East State Road 124, Bluffton, IN. Services will be held on Monday, Nov. 6th, at 10:00 AM, at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church, with visitation from 9:00 to 9:45 AM, prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Adams County, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton in conjunction with the United States Army honor guard. Earl W. Gerber, age 90, of Bluffton, and a former Adams county resident, passed away Sunday afternoon, Oct. 22, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Frank H. Osborn, age 77, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday morning, Sept. 29, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living Community in Fort Wayne. Frank was born in Fort Wayne on Dec. 3, 1945, to John Howard and Leita A. (Smith) Osborn. Both parents preceded him in death. Frank graduated from Lancaster Central High School in 1964 and later received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. He worked as a mechanical engineer for International Harvester in Fort Wayne for 34 years, retiring in 2004. Frank was a former member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Wells County. Robert E. "Bob" Powell, age 87, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 23, 2023, at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center. Bob was born in Ft. Wayne, IN. on Oct. 13, 1935, to Rastes R. and E. Laverne (Beerman) Powell, both parents preceded him in death. He married Judith R. (Graef) in Ft. Wayne on Aug. 18, 1956, she survives in Bluffton. Bob was a 1954 graduate of Northside High School in Ft. Wayne and attended Purdue University. He worked as a farmer and residential construction building numerous homes in the Ft. Barger Mitchel, 88, formerly of Decatur, passed away Tuesday morning, May 16, 2023, at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton, where she had been a resident the last 4 1/2 years. Pat was born on April 12, 1935, in Decatur, IN, to Harold V. and Sara Jane (Kaehr) Barger. On November 21, 1953, she was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Mitchel at Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren, where she was a lifelong member.
