Anne was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Helen (Cooney) and Joseph Sharp and raised in Brookhaven, PA. She was a 1964 graduate of Notre Dame High School, where she played on the Catholic League Championship Basketball team and was Secretary of her senior class.
