Bert L. Major, Jr., 75, of East Greenwich, RI passed on April 5, 2023 in Cranston, RI. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Gail A. (Maskiell) Major. Born in Greenwood, S.C. on June 27, 1947, he was the loving son of the late Bert L. Major, Sr. and Helen E. (Owensby) Major. Bert served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and later served in the US Coast Guard. He served a total of 22 years earning Two Bronze Stars during the Vietnam War. While in the Navy, Bert assisted in the Gemini I Space Capsule recovery. He was also a Lighthouse Keeper at the Sankaty Head Lighthouse on Nantucket.
