Born in Hagerstown, Maryland, Gerald had lived in Paden City West Virginia, Tokyo Japan, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Lake Charles Louisiana, and most recently in the Akron Ohio area. Janice M. Appel, formerly of North Myrtle Beach, passed away on April 29, 2023. She was born on March 23, 1945 in Chicago, IL to Richard and Anna Mary (Fatkin) Appel. Her father was in seminary and when he finished, they moved to Fostoria, OH. After a few years there, they moved to Canton, OH, where she graduated from Perry High School.
