Kenneth E. Gernaat, age 84, passed away peacefully and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 18, 2021. Ken was a loving husband and dad, who cherished his family, but his grandchildren were his true pride and joy. He was born to Albert and Helena Gernaat and raised in Falmouth, MI before he moved to Hudsonville where he resided. Ken proudly served his country in the US Army. He retired from General Motors after 32 years of dedicated service. His love of the outdoors led him to own Gernaat's Christmas Trees in Hudsonville which he operated for several years. After graduating from Northern Michigan Christian School, Harvey proudly served in the National Guard for eight years before attending Davenport College. After graduation, Harvey did accounting and income tax preparation for 40 years, and at the same time, was a Farm Bureau Insurance agent for 29 years. Evelyn June Cooper, age 87, of West Olive, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 12, 2020. She was born in the McBain area to Henry and Lula Hoffman and graduated from McBain High School. She retired from North Ottawa Hospital in Grand Haven after many years of faithful service. Evelyn enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially tending to her flower gardens. She also enjoyed sewing, baking, and camping.
