Shannon (Duke) LaMar Hale 64, passed suddenly on Sunday, January 29, 2023. He was born November 20, 1958, to Gary LaMar Hale and Elna LeAnn Goodsell Hale, both deceased. Shannon spent his teenage years growing up in Newton, Utah. He was loving and kind to everyone. He was especially close to his young Aunts and Uncles who were near his age. He lived with Grandpa Wes and Grandma Elna Goodsell for several years, and they were like parents to him. He loved them both dearly and it was very hard for him when they both passed in 2017. David Sharp Auger, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on January 7, 2023, at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born on May 31, 1936, in Cub River, Idaho to Verl J. and Alice Sharp Auger. He was the oldest child in the family. David grew up working on the family farm until he graduated from Preston High School in 1954. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the army. He was stationed at Fort Mead. Mary Morris, 81, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022, in Logan, UT due to medical complications. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am, Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the Newton 2nd ward LDS Chapel located at 12 South 100 West Newton, UT. Kevin D. Carter, 65, of Riverdale, Idaho passed away at his home Tuesday, December 13, 2022, holding the hand of his wife as he took his last breath. Kevin was born March 21, 1957, in Preston, Idaho. He was the only son of Don and Irene Carter. A visitation will be held at the Riverdale Church House Monday, December 19, 2022, from 10-11:30 AM with funeral services following at 12 noon. W. Ronald Davisson (Ron), nicknamed Sonny, was 90 years of age when he went to be with Jesus on December 12, 2022, leaving all his pain, suffering, and difficulties behind. Rusty Gordon Beckstead, 55 of Preston, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born November 6, 1967, in Preston, Idaho the son of Gordon Long and Nina Rae Buhler Beckstead. He graduated from the Job Corps and Bridgerland Technical School and went on to obtain his Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering. Hunter, gatherer, farmer, family provider, father, and friend, James LaMar Tarbet, almost 92, passed away on November 17, 2022. LaMar was born in Burley, Idaho, the third child of Bourke and Caroline (Kitty) Tarbet in 1930. The family moved to Benson, Utah in 1943. He met Joyce Buxton in 1949 and they were later married. Kids came quickly, with three in diapers at one time! Six total. In 1957 LaMar began to manage the Griffith Dairy in Benson. LaMar started his own Dairy operation in Cornish, Utah in 1979. Elizabeth Jean Williams born September 16, 1942, at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, died on November 3, 2022, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living Center, Downey, Idaho. Five sisters and one brother preceded her in death. Elizabeth, was an adopted member of the Mckell family, Gary, Ann, Dolores, Norma, Korby, Shauna, and Chris for over 40 years. Monta Rae Rallison Smith passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022. She was the second daughter of George (Stanley) Rallison and Harriett (Hattie) Jensen Rallison. She was born on January 17, 1934, in one of two apartments in a tiny white Victorian house that sits on a corner in Whitney, Idaho. She grew up in Preston and attended the Preston schools. The love of her life Val Smith proposed to her on the steps inside the Preston High School while he was on leave from Korea.
