She was born May 30, 1941, in Hart, MI to Michael and Verla (Kidder) Patterson and was a 1959 graduate of Scottville High School. Elaine was married to Ron Stieg on January 29, 1966, who survives her. Together, Elaine and Ron owned and operated a dairy farm and raised 7 children. She loved gardening and flowers and operated a greenhouse in warmer months. Elaine enjoyed cooking, singing, dancing, horseback riding and scrapbooking. She was raised on a farm in LeRoy and taught the value of hard work, which served her well as a homemaker and caregiver. Alfred and Julia (Ivancevic) Burkett. As a child her family lived in several areas of Michigan, and then in Green Springs, OH before they settled in Cadillac in the late 1950's.
