Eugene "Gene" John Walsh, age 95 of Monona, passed away on August 11, 2024 at St Mary's Care Center in Madison Wisconsin. Gene was born on March 14, 1929, in Port Washington, Wisconsin, the son of Frank "Hugo" Walsh and Harriet Agnes Link Walsh. Gene attended St. Mary's School in Port Washington through 10th grade, then transferred to Port Washington High School where he met Jeanette, his future wife. He was a firefighter for the City of Milwaukee Fire Department for 25 years before retiring and moving to Dalton, Wisconsin. She had just become a resident at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg, where she spent just over 12 hours, before passing away peacefully with her husband at her side. She had spent the last 6 months battling a very aggressive form of endometrial cancer.
