Rockton, IL - Renata (Nodi) Kemmeter, age 86, passed away November 18, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. Nodi was born to Rudolph and Elva Behm in September 1937 near Antigo, Wisconsin. After graduation from South Beloit High School, she married Robert (Bob) Kemmeter. Nodi was a full time homemaker until their children were grown, and then worked at Woodward until her retirement in 1999. Nodi was an avid card player, especially Euchre and Bridge. She was active in many clubs including the New Century Club (Book Club), South Beloit Historical Society, and Woodward Retirees Breakfast Club. Also a member of the Rockton American Legion Auxiliary. She and her late husband, Allen, raised four children there. Naomi was born in Raymond, IL March 31, 1928 to Homer and Nellie Fraser Martin. A proud native of Beloit, WI and Rockton, IL, Naomi was a free and kindred spirit who magically touched the lives of all who knew her. Ralph R. Godenius Jr., age 73, died peacefully Sunday, October 1, 2023 after suffering from Alzheimer's for a number of years. Ralph was born on March 7, 1950 in Arizona, grew up in Elmhurst, Illinois, and is the son of the late Ralph R. and Grace B. (Maxwell) Godenius. He married Donna Gunnison October 21, 1972 and they enjoyed their life together in Davis Junction, Illinois. Ralph was self-employed for many years in the refrigeration business. George Sly, 82, of Ray City, Georgia passed away at home Sunday, June 18, 2023. George was a volunteer Fire Fighter for Rockton Township. He worked many years at the Beloit Foundry and Broaster Company. George retired from the job he loved as a Janitor for the Rockton School District. George's health brought him to South Georgia but his Heart remained in Rockton & Shirland, Illinois. He enjoyed meeting up with friends and spending time at the restaurants and coffee shops in Rockton. Two of his favorite places he missed when he made the move to South Georgia was Ray's Family Restaurant and the Rockton Inn. She was born on October 17, 1931 to Lloyd and Louise Mackey in Beloit, WI. She grew up in South Beloit, IL and there she met her future husband, Ken Hanson.
