Jon Lang Shannon, resident of Normangee, Texas, took his last breath on this earth and entered heaven on July, 8, 2021, at age 82. Jon was filled to the brim with grit, and an unwavering faith in God and died living out 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Jon was born on August 21, 1938 in Madisonville, Texas and grew up on the family farm in Normangee, Texas. He graduated from Normangee High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Sam Houston State University. Graveside services for Andy Koenning, 98, were held 10 A.M.. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Williamson Cemetery on the family property near North Zulch. Bro. Glenn Connor officiated the service. Andy Koenning was born April 15, 1922 in Ogden, Kansas. She was the second eldest of eight children born to Robert Stevens Richards & Nora (McKinney) Richards. Andy worked for Beech Aircraft as a machinist before enlisting in the United States Navy where she served as a WAVE during World War II. Amanda June Reese was born December 22, 1959 in Freeport, Texas. She grew up in New Caney and was the owner and operator of Tuff Guy Landscaping and a consultant for Flower Power Landscaping LLC. Amanda lived in Connecticut for a short time where she met the love of her life, Karen Murray. They eventually made their home back in New Caney where Amanda enjoyed all the amazing years growing with her family. She was an avid Bass fisherman.
