Claude was a renowned figure, recognized for his innovative mind, all-American grit, and entrepreneurial drive. At 18 years old, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, but returned home early due to the death of his father. He married Patricia Milligan on March 25, 1950. Together the couple had seven children. Thomas "Tom" Lee Hawkins, lifelong resident of the Cadillac and Marion area passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at his home. He was 56. Tom was born on April 14, 1968, in Cadillac, Michigan to Jerry and Shirley (Denman) Hawkins. He grew and attended school in Cadillac and was a member of the graduating class in 1986. Tom made his living working in carpentry before more recently starting work with a machine shop. Tom could often be found playing guitar and drums for personal pleasure, and guitar for the occasional garage band or with his brother in his teenage years. Max Dean Gould, lifelong resident of Marion passed away at home on Sunday, August 25, 2024. He was 92. Max was born on April 18, 1932, in Marion, to Atlee and Nina (Kipp) Gould. He was a graduate of Marion High School before proudly enlisting to serve as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Max was extremely hard working and never one to sit idle. A proud member of the Operating Engineers Local Union 324 for over 60 years, he was an expert crane operator who mentored young operators well into his 80s.
