Judith Ann "Judi" Roussey passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at her Channel Islands Harbor home in Oxnard, California. Prominently displayed in her home was a framed placard that read, "The walk to a friend's house is never long." It best sums up Judi, whose warmth and sociability brightened the lives of those whose paths she crossed, be it a lifelong friendship or five-minute casual conversation. Judi was wholeheartedly democratic in her affection for others, and anyone without a place to go on a holiday, such as Christmas (Judi's favorite), would receive an enthusiastic welcome from Judi. John Arnold was born in Oxnard, California on August 16, 1925. His mother was ill at the time of his birth, so John spent the first years of his life with a relative in Anaheim, California. Upon returning to his parents, he attended Santa Clara Elementary and High School. After graduation he entered Army basic training in Arkansas and Fort Benning, Georgia. Jovita Ferrer Serrano, 89-1/2, of Oxnard, died Monday, June 7, 2021, at Regency Palms Senior Living/Oxnard, due to old age. She is survived by her three children: Reggie (Pauline) Serrano, Jennifer (Kevin) White, & Josen Serrano and six grandchildren: Celine, Sarah and Sinjin; Kelsey and Kaitlyn; and Malia. Yvonne Meyers, a wonderful nurse, wife and mother, departed her loving family on June 4, 2021, at the age of 97. Yvonne was born in Callaway, MN on October 11, 1923 to Emile and Mary Lefebvre, the 7th of 10 children. She was the last surviving child. Yvonne was mother to Peter, Anne, Jeanne, James and Susan. Mario "Dodoy" Filio Carpio was born on July 5, 1960 in Polangui Albay, Philippines to Aurora and Jaime Carpio, and had five siblings: Margie, Salud (+), Juliet, Debbie, and Andy. He went to school at the Gregorio Araneta University Foundation, where he studied veterinary medicine. In 1996, he moved from the Philippines to America, and married his high school sweetheart, Julma Carpio, on April 24, 1999. Together they adopted a son, Joshua.
