James Walter Liggett, 77, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on November 13, 2023 at Harbor Hospice after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 17, 1946 in Atlantic, Iowa to Maurice and Doris Lent Liggett. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa, James worked as a dedicated salesman for Nebraska Distributing. She attended Thomas Walker High School, then went on to attend Lincoln Memorial University for a year where she met the love of her life, Harold Moss "H.M." Rogers. They first met in the Spring House at LMU after being set up by a teacher, who thought they would be a good match. They were married for over 70 years and had two children.
