Sam Breeding Gardner passed from this life of sorrow on Friday, November 19. His departure was from the St. Thomas-Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro and followed a very brief but precipitous illness. Sam, who most recently was enjoying his retirement from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, was a long time member of the Cole's Chapel Community, though, of-late, he was residing in Sparta following the sale of his home. Preceding Sam's passing were his wife, Margaret Alberta Wilhite Gardner, and, their son, Sam Kirk Gardner. The oldest of eight children, Elizabeth was born October 5, 1933 to the late James and Sara Leftwich in Sparta, TN. Elizabeth accepted Christ in her early 20's and became a member of the Church of Christ where she and her late husband Charles remained faithful servants throughout their lives. She had a true servant's heart, devoted to caring for those in need, mentoring young women and children and spreading the Word of God.
