He was born in Owosso on July 4, 1953 to Gaylord Richardson and Lois Millo (Brewington) Rosa. He married Brenda Crugher on August 19, 1977 at Owosso and she preceded him in death on August 31, 2013. After graduation Randy joined the US Air Force and served for four years in Air Combat Control.
