Iva "Ivy" Smith, 73, of Lady's Island, passed away at her home on February 8, 2022, with her loving husband, Patrick, at her side. A celebration of life will take place at 46 Telfair Drive, Lady's Island on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Services were handled by Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services in Bluffton, SC.

David Witt Collier, 82, of Kennesaw suddenly passed away on January 30, 2022, in Hilton Head, SC. He was a merchant in Kennesaw as the owner/operator of Kennesaw Hardware for over 30 years. Mr. Collier is survived by Kathy, his wife of 50 years, and two sons, Jeff and Joe. A memorial service will not be held at this time.

Larry Heichel passed away at home on July 3, 2021, at the age of 73. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio, to William E. and Dorothy Sloan Heichel on July 30, 1947. Larry graduated from Malabar High School, where he was seeded #7 in the State of Ohio in tennis his junior & senior years. He attended Ohio Wesleyan, Ashland University, the University of Saltzburg in Saltzburg, Austria, Lorain County Community College, and, finally, The Ohio State University. Thelma Louise Ott passed away on June 14, 2021, on Hilton Head Island, SC only five weeks after celebrating her 100th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lawrence; son, Larry; and brother, Reverend Robert Booker. Thelma is survived by her loving sons, John (Maryann) of Bluffton, SC, and Robert; two granddaughters, Kimberly and Jessica; and several great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Suzanne Weatherley Moore died peacefully following a period of declining strength on June 8, 2021 at her home in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina surrounded by her husband and children. Henrietta (Heddy) Mellum McCraw, of Bluffton, SC, entered the gates of Heaven on May 16th, after a long struggle with multiple medical conditions. She is survived by her husband, Thomas. They were married for nearly 59 years. They have a son, Erik, and two granddaughters, Ansley and Daphne. Heddy is now in Heaven with their daughter, Ingrid. She has a twin sister, Doretta Mellum. Heddy loved her family, many friends, and life in Sun City Hilton Head, SC where she lived for 20 years. She will be remembered for her love of family, faith, animals, gardening, and decorating. Judy Hayes, 68, of Hilton Head Island, died Saturday, July 11. Mom, Grammy, Jude, Honey: whatever you may have called her, she loved you. She would go wherever she was needed at a moment's notice. Dennis "Denny" John Smith, 63, passed on July 11, 2020 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Syracuse, NY to Raymond and Betty (Hanus) Smith. As a child, Dennis was best known for his incredible ability as a swimmer. He could do "full-gainers", 1 1/2 flips, and kick a 10 ft high ceiling like no one else. Bobbie Callaway, age 75, went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2020 in Sun City, Bluffton, South Carolina. Bobbie, originally from Akron, Ohio, was an avid golfer and a woman filled with love, generosity, and a strong faith in God. She was an educator and business owner of Serendipity Child Development Center in Massachusetts for 20 years. In 1993, she and her husband Hugh moved to South Carolina, where she continued her passion for teaching at Bluffton Elementary and Hardeeville Elementary schools. Mary Jane (Dieringer) Clements, 92, passed away on February 1, 2020. Jane was born on September 18, 1927. She lived all of her childhood and most of her adult life in the Newport and Ft. Thomas communities; spending her later years in Florida and South Carolina. Jane was dedicated to her family's well being. She was a devoted spouse to the late Roy Clements and survived by her three sons, Todd, Curt, and Greg; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Burial services will be private.
