Frank E. Daffin Jr (Ed) of Tunnis Mills, 93, passed away on April 11, 2024 at the Talbot Hospice House. Born in St. Michaels on June 25, 1930, he was the eldest son of the late Frank E. and Rebecca Roe Daffin. Ed grew up working in the carpentry trade alongside his father and uncles. From an early age he fell in love with aviation and was a licensed pilot by the time he turned 16. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War, where in addition to flying he received radar/electronics training. After his discharge he spent 30 years working for IBM in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Germany before retiring back home to the Eastern Shore. Mary was born on October 6, 1931 to the late John Patrick Herrity and Mary McNamara Herrity in Oyster Bay, New York and married William Francis (Bill) Mann on March 31, 1951 in Oyster Bay, New York. A devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church, Mary answered her call to serve in many ways throughout her life, from teaching Sunday Catechism, beginning in her teens, volunteering in various capacities, and actually taking part in building churches in New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Born in Hershey, PA on August 31, 1958, Lisa spent her childhood in Oak Ridge, TN. After college at the University of Tennessee, she joined the Navy and served as a Laboratory Officer and medical technologist in hospital and drug testing laboratories. She came to Bethesda Naval Hospital in 1990 and in 1992 married LT Robert Heaton. Jason Howard Jones born September 15, 1980, passed away suddenly at his home in Wittman, Maryland with his wife by his side. He was 39. Jason loved being on the water crabbing, and dredging with one of his best friends, Wade Murphy. He enjoyed fishing off the dock until the sun went down. Cheryl Gearhart (age 76) of Sherwood, MD passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in St. Michael's, MD on Sunday, November 17. She was surrounded by family, friends, music, and prayers. Cheryl was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend--a true giver who touched the hearts of everyone she met.
