Richard A. O'Connell, 89, of Buzzards Bay passed away on March 1, 2021, surrounded by his loving children. Richard was raised in Northampton, MA, where he graduated from St. Michael's High School. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Beatrice (Parent), his brothers, Frank, James and Robert, and his sister, Beatrice Bartell. Richard met the love of his life, Nancy (Keating) O'Connell, in elementary school. The couple married in 1953 and were a model of devotion throughout their 66 years of marriage. Daniel graduated from Mass Bay Community College in 2010 with high honors. He earned an associate degree in general studies with a certificate in business. In 2007, he was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, International Honor Society of the Two-Year College. Daniel worked as a landscaper in Vermont and as a short-order cook at the Yada-Yada Cafe in Boston. Born and raised in Westport, Nova Scotia, Deanna came to Massachusetts when she married her husband of 51 years, Charles B. Ellis. A long-time resident of Dedham, Massachusetts, Deanna had a decades long career with Sears Roebuck. She was an active member of and volunteer at the Church of the Good Shepherd where she had many cherished friends. Deanna and Charles were life-long Red Sox fans and enjoyed square dancing. Nancy was raised in Northampton where she graduated from St. Michael's High School. She was predeceased by her parents, Jeremiah and Agnes Keating, and her siblings. Nancy met her husband, Richard A. O'Connell, in elementary school in Northampton. The couple married in 1953 and were a model of devotion throughout their 66 years of marriage. Catherine (Kate) Rosemary Sweeney of Bourne passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019. She was born in Rochester, New York on September 30, 1925 to Catherine and James Meagher. In 1950, Kate married the love of her life, Francis J. Sweeney of Wareham. They lived in Greenfield for many years. In 1972, Kate and Fran moved their brood to Monument Beach. They lived on Phinney's Point until the late 1980s. Kate was always about fitness and for many years she led a community exercise class known as "Shape Up with Kate."
