His presence was required elsewhere, and with the knowledge that life would end soon, he made his peace within the unwanted limits of his sustainable physical health. Death ended the discomforts of disease and aging and yet many would say his life concluded sooner than it should have. Daniel "Dan" Franklin Pence, age 78 of LaFayette, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. He was born to the late Leroy and Ovie Lee Wallin Pence, was a lifelong resident of LaFayette and was of the Christian Faith. Dan retired in 2009 from the Walker Co. Road Department after more than 30 yrs. and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed. Charles Robert Bledsoe, Sr., age 87, of Rising Fawn, Georgia passed away Friday - October 2, 2020. He was born in LaFayette, Georgia to the late Frank Lamar and Jenny Viola Brown Bledsoe. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1976. He was a pilot and flew many aircraft during his service to our great country, including reconnaissance missions during the Vietnam War.
