Johann "Hans" Strasser, 86, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025. He was born on April 26, 1939, in St. Agatha, Austria. Hans is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie-Claire; sons Stephan and Daniel; grandson Sidney; brother Kurt (Heidi); sister Inge; and nephews Robert Strasser and Christophe Lukundula (Gayle). Hans graduated from the Salzburg Hotel Management Academy in his homeland in l961. Prior to that he completed a tour in the Austrian army. He began his apprenticeship as a budding hotelier in middle management positions throughout Europe working in deluxe hotels in Switzerland, Holland, Germany, Austria and the Channel Islands. Jason loved playing golf and competition darts and spending/enjoying time with his dog Bowser (his pal and companion). Jason is survived by parents Reginald and Amelia, brothers Brandon (Megumi), Aaron (Taryn) and nephews Adam, Kolby and Konnor. Rose M.K. Yoshimura of Honolulu, HI, passed away at home on August 1, 2025 at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard "Mamo", and great-granddaughter Baby Isabella Rae Berman. Rose loved her family dearly, caring & serving them throughout her entire life cooking up meals & hosting Ma family gatherings. Her family will always remember their Saturday night gatherings enjoying her yummy beef stew, beef broccoli & banana cream pies. (Dec. 18, 1951- July 6, 2025) Charlyne Lei Nakashima, 73, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on July 6 2025 in Kapolei. She was born in Fukuoka, Japan to Margaret and Nobuo Nakashima in 1951. She was a devoted mother to James and Jayson Medeiros, who felt her love through their stomachs with the ono food she cooked. She had a generous heart and loved to bake, laugh, and take care of others. She is preceded in death by brothers Jay and Mark Nakashima. She is survived by her two sons and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Tenrikyo Taiheiyo Church on August 24th, 2025 at 6:45pm. Friends, family and church members are invited to attend.
